My wife and I have dreams of owning and running a successful sheep farm one day. I am obsessed with sheep. I love watching youtube videos of sheep shearing and watching sheep and I look up pictures of sheep online and on Pinterest. S has bought me many books on sheep and goat raising (b/c I want goats, too). I think we have decided that a fiber farm is the way to go. We are both strict vegetarians and selling our sheep for meat may be something that we just can’t/won’t be able to do. We’ll see. I have a thought about eating locally and if one chooses to eat meat, I have so much respect for the practice of eating meat that you have either caught on your own or know how/where it has been raised (and NOT from mass production companies). Getting off my soapbox now.
Do you know anyone who has sheep? Or who runs and lives on an actual working farm? Care to share?
Sources (beginning clockwise): sheep, more sheep and more.
